Friday’s classic tune #6
This week’s trip down memory lane takes us back to 1995, and to the Pharcyde’s classic cut - Runnin’. I’m hugely fond of this tune – and that’s not a term I often use in relation to a hip hop track. Simply put, there’s just something special about it.
The sweetness of the intro gets you from the start and from there on it’s all about the soulful vibe, melodic lyrics and the positive message. It’s all just a little bit beautiful, to be honest.

Once again you’ve dropped another gem my man! I remember way back in the day, supporting these guys when they played in The Pod I think it was. They were a crazy bunch in a funny way back stage. For some strange reason they were asking me to get them some illicit party starters, I have no idea why? ahem! Nice tune selection El Nifto!
