Friday’s classic tune #4
Since today is New Year’s Eve and everyone’s got 2011 all on the brain, I’m taking a minute to remember 1993 and an amazing tune that still sounds fresh - ’93 til Infinity by Souls of Mischief. Hailing from Oakland, California this group paved the way for lots of other great artists with that unique West Coast sound – Jurassic 5, Blackalicious and so on.
So check out the track below. And by the way, what a chorus (even though it’s just the boys taking turns saying “this is how we chill from ’93 til”). Was lucky enough to catch these guys live when they played Crawdaddy in 2006 – one of the many great shows put on by Choicecuts over the years.

This is indeed a pure banger. Also worth noting is their later works as Hieroglyphics. 93′ til Infinity most certainly is timeless and a good choice to bring us into a new year with infinite possibilities…to Infinity and beyond!!!
